PT Matahari Putra Prima Tbk (“MPPA” or the “Company”), founded on March 11, 1986, has grown into a leading modern retailer in Indonesia. MPPA offers a wide range of products, including food, beverages, clothing, household goods, and medical equipment, through formats such as supermarkets, hypermarkets, and community-based stores. Focusing on the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector in 2012, the Company reached significant milestones, including operating 219 stores by 2018 and introducing the Hyfresh supermarket concept in 2019. During the 2020 pandemic, MPPA accelerated its digital transformation with initiatives like Hypermart Online and Chat & Shop.
As the first retailer in Indonesia to receive national halal certification, MPPA demonstrates its commitment to sustainability by offering responsibly sourced, high-quality, and affordable products. The Company emphasizes supporting local suppliers and aligning its operations with its vision to improve the well-being of Indonesian communities.
Since 2023, MPPA has been advancing its transformation by modernizing store designs, improving operational efficiency, and utilizing data analytics to enhance customer service. As of 2024, MPPA operates 176 stores across 74 cities in Indonesia.
